Hi guys,

As most of you know (since I’ve no doubt bored you senseless going on about it) I am participating in the 210 km Around the Bay bike event on Sunday 21 October. From the outset my motivation has been the personal challenge but this is also a charity event supporting The Smith Family.

The team at The Smith Family have pointed out that if I can raise the meagre sum of $468, they can change the life of a disadvantaged Australian child through providing basics we take for granted like a school bag, complete uniform or the schoolbooks they need to make the most of their education. It doesn’t seem too much of an ask, so here I am!

P.S. If you feel REALLY motivated by a cause, I’m doing another bike event in November – ConnectEast Ride for Home on the Eastlink tollway, fundraising for Hanover which supports homeless Victorians. Save a few pennies for that one too.
